A note from Simon

When leaders pause to explore purpose together

As the dust settles on last week’s Reframe Experience, a few reflections have stayed with me.

It was the first time I shared a new way of thinking about purpose — something that has been forming as I’ve been writing the book.

What became clear is that purpose is lived and experienced differently, in different stages of our lives, and in different contexts we find ourselves in. And at times, our very understanding of purpose itself needs reframing.

But what mattered most wasn’t the framework.

It was the conversation.

Very quickly, people began applying the thinking to their own lives and leadership. Stories were shared. Assumptions were questioned. New perspectives emerged.

The real value came from a group of thoughtful people willing to explore these questions together. Here is a visual summary of some of the key things we covered.

Reflections from the room

We get out of practice about the practice of considering purpose. It's interesting reflection to rearticulate, reconsider.

The threshold, it's like a jacket. Your environment doesn't fit anymore. This is the moment where you start to test the boundaries that have never been tested before.

I love that the model is not stagnant. You can be at stage 5 in one aspect and stuck at level 3 at another.

What’s next

What comes next

Thank you to everyone who brought their honesty and curiosity. Something meaningful is beginning to form.

Our next Reframe Experience will be in June, focusing on how change is designed and lived within organisations. We will be in touch with more details soon.

Warmly, Simon
